Hi, first of all: I'm simply loving backuppc, using it for 2 years now, works flawlessly!
Sorry that this subject is not entirely backuppc-related: What are your recommended chunk-sizes for burning tar-files (archive host) to DVD-RW? I'm neither expert on optical disks nor on filesystems, but when I experienced problems reading files from CD/DVD s, the complete file was corrupted: am I totally wrong when I think that par2 recovery data only makes sense when the size of the chunks is smaller than the percentage of the recovery data from par, i.e. using the -r 5 option on a file of 100MB each chunk shouldn't be bigger than 5MB to recover as many errors as possible? I googled around quite a lot an searched the list but didn't find an answer (yet), TIA & regards, Bernhard ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ BackupPC-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/backuppc-users http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/
