I would like to archive a backuppc client state on a given date. Hopefully this
would allow me to restore the files from that archive sometime in the future.
The only method I could think of was to create a zip or tar archive in restore
options, then store it somewhere.

The backuppc interface is more user-friendly than one of the above options, and
more readily allows selective restores. If I could mark a pc as offline or save
a date/state, this would keep client in the pool and its files accessible in
the backuppc UI. As I dump the backuppc home and files to tape daily, it
remains in the tape rotation as well for added insurance.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Andy
