Ok, that explains that. :)
Next problem, I've got :
$Conf{XferMethod} = 'rsync';
however the startup stops with :
Starting BackupPC: 2005-09-06 12:24:59 $Conf{SmbClientPath} = '/usr/bin/smbclient' is not a valid executable program
I have :
$Conf{SmbClientPath} = '/usr/bin/smbclient';
however I do not have this program installed.
It is my understanding that if I have the backup type set to rsync then it should not matter if my smbclientpath is set to a valid program or not.
Any help? Thanks much! (again!)

It is telling you that it can't connect to the backup pc server
process, not that it can't connect to myhost.com. Is the server
running? (How you normally start it will depend on your
OS).
