Oh i see. The Compress:Zlib wasn't installed properly because i was using
for running the apache the xampp project.
I will now try to find a way to install the missing module to xampp
otherwise I will install a standalone apache.

The XferLOG files are compressed.  Back to Les' question, are
they displayed correctly in via the CGI interface?

to suit your installation);

    /usr/local/BackupPC/bin/BackupPC_zcat /data/BackupPC/pc/HOST/XferLOG.1.z

If neither the CGI nor this command work, then something is wrong
with the installation of perl's Compress::Zlib module.  Perhaps you
are running apache and your shell commands on a different machine
(via NFS) that doesn't have Compress::Zlib installed?
