I don't succeed to backup a large /home directory with BackupPC 2.1.1 and XfertMethod 'rsyncd' on Debian sarge, on the BackupPC server log I got:

Is the last full backup an (unsuccessful) partial backup?

Yes !

It could there is a problem with backing up starting with
a partial. You can either:

- manually removing the partial (delete the last line of the
pc/HOST/backups file, and remove the corresponding pc/HOST/nnn
  directory,

I do that and ask for a full backup

Does a normal, full, backup still fail?

Yes :-( with this error message in the log:

Connected to mjc-idf.dynalias.net:873, remote version 29

Parent read EOF from child: fatal error!
Done: 3909 files, 841220879 bytes
Got fatal error during xfer (Child exited prematurely)
Backup aborted (Child exited prematurely)

I have the same problem with XferMethod 'rsync' over ssh

Thanks for your help.

Sam.
