Huh. I thought backuppc knew to do the right thing when I tell it a partial dump number, that is, that it would collect from previous full and partial dumps as necessary to get the files. It sounds like you're saying that there is no one dump number I can use in my scripts, as the latest files will be scattered about the landside, as it were.
