cool. this is just in time for the server migration I need to do right now.
I'm planning on doing it over nfs rather than rsyncd or rsync-over-ssh; but
I might give these scripts a bit of a try.

I was originally planning on just doing tar over netcat; which shouldn't run
into the memory issues too badly, and yet *should* preserve the hardlinks if
I do it all at once... but I've not tried it thorougly before. 

I did once move 100GB of pool from one drive array to another; but I can't
remember if I did it with a cp -a, or a tar|tar. took about a day in any
case. 

this time around there's 220GB, and the drive hookups are really too
complex for me to want to try to put one array in the other box in order to
move the data. 

the scripts are much appreciated!
