I'm running Debian sarge with P4 2.8GHZ processor, 512MB RAM and 750GB
of disk space in a home network environment that includes Windoze XP,
MAC OS 10 and Linux. I'm using SAMBA as the transport mechanism for
backuppc. However, everytime backuppc launches, the linux server itself
backs up ok, but crashes and re-boots the linux box (where backuppc is
hosted) while backing up the WinXp box.

I've run extensive hardware diags on the linux box and it's clean. It's
a pretty brand new box. Not sure where to start looking for the
problem, but I did try rsync, but grew frustrated in trying to get it to
work. I'm sure I lack some key basic knowledge in this area.

Here are a couple of logs that may be helpful?! If anyone has any
insight or can direct me to a location where I can learn more on my own,
that would be great. Note the problem in this instance happened Jan 20
