A single copy of every file is stored in the pool, whether or
not it appears multiple times among the backups.

You must have the host and cpool directories on the same
file system.  The result is that a lot of space will be
wasted since the backups cannot be hardlinked to the pool.
The backups should still be fine, since the original files
should be preserved if the links fail.

Yes.

It's a pool of compressed files.  Only one of pool and cpool
will be used.
