I had to do something similar on a FC1 machine after it had it's rsync updated to 2.6.7. What was strange was that there was no error in the backuppc logs that I could find, just multiple attempts to start a backup. I ended up excluding rsync for the Dag repo in my yum configuration and installing rsync from FC3, rsync from FC1 and FC2 generated FileListRecieved failed errors.
