If you use "@" in your rsync share names, you might not be able to restore with the tar- and zip-options. Only direct restore via rsync will work, tar and zip-files with just come in empty (0 byte). I have no idea why that is so, and if the problem is with BackupPC, tar and/or zip. I encountered this on Debian Sarge systems, BackupPC 2.1.1-2, tar 1.14-2, libarchive-zip 1.14-1. cheers, &rw -- -- Modern PCs are horrible.
