Good evening,

 

Thanks for the help, I have been digging in smb.conf but I can't find any domain password in it. I imagine you are talking about $Conf{SmbClientFullCmd} – but I can’t see how to work it around.

 

Could you be a little more explicit ?

One thing that might not be obvious is that smbclient uses

some of the settings from /etc/samba/smb.conf and could

be picking up a domain or password server from there

instead of logging in locally to the target machine as

you expect.  I worked around this on a box where I did

want the samba server to use a domain and password server

by adding a -s option to all of the $Conf{SmbClien*Cmd}s

pointing to an alternate smb.conf.
