I have the same problem (fileListReceive failed): Running: /usr/bin/ssh -q -x -l root <full-hostname> /usr/bin/rsync -- server --sender --numeric-ids --perms --owner --group --devices -- links --times --block-size=2048 --recursive --exclude=/proc --ignore- times . / Xfer PIDs are now 12189 Got remote protocol 29 fileListReceive() failed Done: 0 files, 0 bytes Got fatal error during xfer (fileListReceive failed) Backup aborted (fileListReceive failed) I'm using the rsync transfer method. However, when I do 'su - backuppc' I can run 'ssh root@<full-hostname>' just fine and I end up at the prompt of the client machine. Where else do I check what's wrong?
