Actually doing it using sudo causes the same effect... permission denied.

Perhaps I must change the permission on the directory cpool

This is what I have:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/var/lib/backuppc/cpool# ls -la
total 0
drwxr-xr-x  2 root     root      6 2006-07-12 10:10 .
drwxr-x---  7 backuppc backuppc 80 2006-07-21 15:28 ..
