Are you sure it is BackupPC_serverMesg file because I saw this post
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=10659594 . He says use backuppc_restore
If someone have an example to restore for example:
Backup Number: 8
Destination Host: 192.168.0.5
Module rsyncd: www
path: /stats

Check out the BackupPC_serverMesg script included with backuppc. Search the
mailinglist archives on how to use it.
