If you want to build a server that you can leave running for a long time without having to upgrade the OS, I'd go with CentOS (http:// www.centos.org/) instead of Fedora. CentOS is a de-branded version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (which in turn is based on Fedora Core), so you'll barely notice the difference, but CentOS has a much longer support cycle. The current release will receive security fixes till at least 2012 (and CentOS 5 will be released in a couple of months). No special recipe for the install, just follow the instructions on the site: http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/faq/BackupPC.html Nils Breunese. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
