hmm. sorry for jumping to the wrong assumption. i confess i was
surprised that you wouldn't have thought of this. :-)
i do have that configured, but have definitely never gotten that mail
to the configured address. doing "su - backuppc" and running
/sbin/sendmail -t -f backuppc pgf-admin
by hand sends mail corrrectly. and i do get messages of the form:
Date: 11 Sep 2006 05:43:18 -0000
From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: BackupPC administrative attention needed
------------"
The following hosts had an error that is probably caused by a
misconfiguration. Please fix these hosts:
- mulch (Unexpected end of tar archive)
Regards,
PC Backup Genie
so i'd say mail itself is working.
last night's log does contain the line:
2006-10-15 01:00:00 24hr disk usage: 96% max, 96% recent, 22 skipped hosts
so backuppc was aware of the error, and $Info{DUDailySkipHostCntPrev} was
nonzero, which should have triggered the mail. i'm somewhat confused.
