if the files still are referenced by other backups then they still exist in the pool. When the files have no other hard links, and are not referenced by any other backups (like the 200mb you freed up), they will be deleted. The nightly process will clean the backups and the pool directories. You can see the status of what was done in the pool for the previous run in the status page of the cgi.
