Hello,

I am trying to configure BackupPC on FreeBSD and Gentoo linux without
Samba. I setup everything like in severl howtos and it won't show my
hosts in BackupPC's CGI interface. I read this :

http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/faq/BackupPC.html#how_backuppc_finds_hosts

which explains how PackupPC finds hosts, and I executed :

perl -e 'print(gethostbyname("myhost") ? "ok\n" : "not found\n");'

(replacing "myhost" by my host's hostname in /etc/hosts which is "delta9")

and it was able to find my host fine. I tried a global and then per-host
setup, and still nothing...

for my per-host setup I used both /data0/backuppc_data/pc/hostname/config.pl
and /data0/backuppc_data/pc/hostname.pl

has anyone gotten this to work or have an idea of what is wrong? I put
my host's and golbal config files
+ hosts file as attachements if anyone wants to look ath them.

Thank you!
Gabriel

PS
I'm working on the FreeBSD config now, so it was installed using the
installation files on the BackupPC
website, not the posrts system, so it's a "regular" installation.
