I can't explain this, unless of course the server time wasn't correct
when the backup was made.

I assume 12/16 really means 12/16/07, and that is 339 days after
today (1/11/07).  So somehow BackupPC_dump got the wrong time
when it called time().  You should check for any unusual settings
of TZ and the related timezone environment variables.  That's
about the only thing that could cause a process to get the wrong
notion of time compared to manually running the command.

Are BackupPC's time stamps in the LOG file correct?

You should try restarting BackupPC manually as the BackupPC
user (ie: BackupPC -d) and trying again.
