hi -- i have a couple of hosts at remote sites that i've started
doing (partial) backups on. since i use tar everywhere locally,
that's how i configured them at first. i realized later that that
wasn't what i wanted, so i switched them to rsync, and immediately
did a full backup on each. no reason this shouldn't be okay, right?
the one suspicious thing was this -- the log has a _lot_ of messages
that look like this:
Unexpected call BackupPC::Xfer::RsyncFileIO->unlink(.bashrc)
is this "normal"? i'm guessing it's because on a full, rsync is trying
to remove a previous version of the file that might be there, since
this isn't backup #0. can i assume this is benign?
