Dear Carl, Thanks for the response, those tools are really handy. I ran memtest86+, and guess what. No memory faults, but the system hanged also after some time in the tests. AFAIK this can only mean one thing, some capacitors or transistors got fried during the process of unclean shut-down. Thanks for the help! To the rest, sorry for being a little bit off topic!
