Hi all, We have been running backuppc for a while when the backups for one of the servers stopped working. There was no log messages indicating the problem. It seemed that the process would run ok for about 20 minutes and then die. A look at "ps -uax" showed that the backuppc process was <defunct> or zombied.
We had no idea how to solve the problem but then ran /BackupPC_dump -v -f server.dns.name This showed that the backupc gave a seqmentation fault when backing up a a file under /sys. We simple added sys to the excluded directories and everything is working now.
