I currently use BackupPC to backup 34 servers (two different backup
servers). We have this one development machine that takes more than a
day to backup (2100 minutes for 139 gigs on full backup). We have other
servers with the same amount of data (some with more) that backup much
faster. We believe the reason for this is that there are many CVS
checkouts which contain the same files.

Our theory is that it is taking this long due to comparison of all the
identical files when making links. The hardware in this server matches
another machine with the same amount of data, but it only takes around
300-400 minutes. I'm wondering if anyone has run into a similar problem
and might have suggestions. I'm going to look and see if I can skip
backing up some of the data, but at this point I'm not sure if that is
an option.
