If you install from scratch, you get a chance to change the location 
during the install.  With a packaged version you have to keep the 
preconfigured choice.

You can either symlink to the directory you want to use, or if you are 
dedicating a whole partition to the archive you can use 
/var/lib/backuppc as the mount point.  In either case you have to copy 
the existing data over first.
