I have 2 machines on a LAN, backing each other up. (I'm trying to get my first full backup before moving one machine off site).
One of the machines is taking hours, even days, to receive about 16 GB of backups. It's an older machine w/ IDE drives, but top reports only about 50% cpu usage. It's a 2.0 Celeron w/ 512 MB PC133 RAM, /var/lib/backuppc is symlinked to a directory on an IDE hard drive, which is the slave on the primary IDE channel. Any ideas what I should look for in the logs to figure out what is causing this unusual slowness?
