That's what I've been doing. But I wanted something that was vss aware and
also that would do delta copies. I thought backuppc would be perfect if I
could get it to work.

Subject: Re: [BackupPC-users] Backuppc on windows

BackupPC is great at what it does, but it's not meant to do everything.
For example, it may not be the best fit for your item 1 "Windows server (2K
and 2K3) backup to itself (USB hard disk)".

For that, I'd recommend that you use rsync. You can install rsync on
Windows using cygwin, but if you want something that's point and click,
Microsoft's SyncToy
<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=E0FC1154-C975-4814
-9649-CCE41AF06EB7&displaylang=en>
is extremely simple to use. If you prefer free software, something like
Unison <http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/> would be a good choice.

Unison operates similarly to rsync and only sends the changes when doing an
update. I'm unsure about SyncToy's algorithm since it's not open source.

Hope this helps!

Cheers, Stephen
