        I don't think I've ever gone through the backuppc installation
        instructions... the Debian package does pretty much everything
for you and
        sets it all up right the first time. Just install it and point
your web
        browser at http://backup.host.name/backuppc/

          Maybe I've forgotten some
        stuff that's now as natural as breathing to me; but the Debian
package
        really is far and away the only way to go for installing it
