I've recently purchased two 500GB drives that I wanted to add to my XFS LVM. It turns out that you can't resize an XFS partition. I ended up having to recreate the LVM. I moved the data over to 1 of the drives, recreated the LVM using reiserfs, copied the data over to the new LVM. Then I added the 2nd drive and resized the partition.
