It will be very nice if I could explain you exactly step by step how to
make working
a backup through rsync and ssh on win client but I tried bit it didn't
work.
In my case it's working with SMB and RSYNCD but not with RSYNC with SSH.
However, I think I saw that OpenSSH (with sshwindows, software (SSH
Server) that you need on your windows client)
is not available for Win 2k3. I'm not really sur of this information but I
think.
If you can run the command manually and you've got this error "(auth
failed on module rootc)" with BackupPC, it's
seems to be an error in the file named : "rsyncd.conf" => line : auth
users = rootc
And don't forget to replace the same value for [cDrive].
In my case I've got this value 2 times in the files.
In this same file, you need to enter this value : "read only = false".
By default, this value is "true" but with "true" you can't restore datas
in the path which is set.
Can you tell me more precisely what is your level of configuration (ssh
(keys are ok or no?), etc...) ?

Hello!
I am little newbie in srync and ssh on win. Can you explain me, please
step by step how do you make working a backup through rsync and ssh on
win client? I'm using Centos 5 and i want to backup some win 2003
servers.
Thanks in advance for any advice. I tried to make backups with cwrsync
server installed on win servers and backuppc but , i can't
"automatize" the backup. If I run the command manually, it's working,
but it's not working from the backuppc interface. The error was :
full backup started for directory rootc
2007-10-03 01:15:32 Got fatal error during xfer (auth failed on module
rootc)
2007-10-03 01:15:37 Backup aborted (auth failed on module rootc)
Can you help me please?
