"SmbShareName" is the value of your shared folder in Windows (it could be
"c$" or the name of the folder "test" if it's shared).
Now it's possible to specify just or one or several folders or files in
this shared folder via BackupFilesOnly.
For example, if you want to back up all files which are in a folder you
can share it and enter his name in SmbShareName.
However, if you want to back up several folders and files but not all you
can enter c$ in SmbShareName and then specify
the name of folders and files in BackupFilesOnly.
If you decide to use BackupFilesOnly :
SmbShareName : c$ (or d$ or the name of you shared folder)
BackupFilesOnly : New Key : *
And after precise your folder (just enter the name
as "Datas" for example)
Or the name of your files ("filename.txt" for
example or "\Datas\Documents\filename.txt")
But do not enter the " " in the interface web.
For your information, you can't use BackupFilesOnly and BackupFilesExclude
in the same time with samba. It's just one or the other.
Good luck

Hello,
In order to back up just one directory, you can enter the name of this
folder in $Conf{BackupFilesOnly} via the web interface or the file
"config.pl".
New Key : *
And enter the name of the folder in the new textarea.
Let me informed if it work.
Good luck
Romain

[BackupPC-users] single directory
Hello,
I am new to backuppc.
Is it possible to backup a single directory with smb ? (windows pc)
I added a new host, edited the config of that host and changed in Xfer:
SmbShareName C$
BackupFilesOnly (override) /test
When I start a full backup, the C:\ is backup up but I only want the
“test” directory.
How do I do that ?
Thnx.
Ph.
