if you browse to the directory, prob /var/lib/backuppc/pc/hostname/ can you
see a directory named 334??  if so the files are there, if not they are
probably gone.  are you using ext2 filesystem? if so look at this

you can get a copy of slax (use myslax to edit the ISO) and burn it to cd or
flashkey so you can get to the partition while it is unmounted unless your
have a dedicated drive for backuppc.

if you are on ubuntu or debian

apt-get install e2undel
