i second that! rsync is much more efficient that smb

on smb, a 100speed ethernet seems to max out at around 6MB/s which rsync
seems to do about 8MB/s.  additionally, rsync seems to be more reliable.

the only thing i use the samba services for is nmblookup to find hostnames.
