Thats good to know, i've never been down that path since for that 
install. We flicked to fc6 to get around that many, many months ago. Its 
a dedicated internal BackupPC server. Mind you.....now that i remember 
it.....I was sure that firewire 1394A did work, however it was Firewire 
1394B which we were using that had the troubles. Have you used Firewire 
B with CentOS and the latest kernels?
