Hi all:
Can anybody think of any reason to not add --partial to the default
list of arguments to rsync? It keeps partial file transfers allowing
the next transfer to append to the partially transferred file.
I have a couple of systems that are unable to transfer some large log
files within 24 hours. So they have been spinning since the
partial/in-process transfer of the file was deleted when BackupPC was
sent a sigalarm.
With --partial it kept the partial file around and permitted it to
complete the transfer in 2 24 hour sessions.
The only thing I can think of is that a user could possibly install
the partial file from disk without realizing it was a partial file.
Can anybody think of any other issues?
