I took it to mean that he was referring to RAID 0+1 (two RAID-0 striped 
sets that are mirrors of each other).  In any case, RAID 1+0 would be 
safer (multiple RAID-1 pairs that are striped) since if you lose 1 disk 
in RAID 0+1 one whole striped set is shot, if another disk fails in the 
other stripe, you are SOL.
