Yes it's possible. However, it's generally so much work and so time-consuming that you're better off just letting the new host run for a while to back up the data, until such time as the old data would have expired from the old host. If you have some very old data that you'd like to preserve, however; I think there is some discussion in the archives about how to copy just certain hosts and then rebuild the links.
