Hi,

When upgrading a Debian package the package is NOT allowed to silently make
changes to config files. You should get a question about whether you want to
keep your file, replace with the new, diff them or escape to a shell.

When you return from the diff or the shell, you should come back to the same
question again if my memory serves me right.

If a package is making changes to a config file without your approval, that is
a
bug.
