I repeatedly get messages like
Backup failed Call timed out: server did not respond after 20000
milliseconds opening remote file
when backing up relatively large files (photos, videos, generally bigger
than several mb) off a laptop via smb.
Unfortunately there's a virus scan software on there that I can't
disable (corporate policy / lockdown) - it's a pig that slows file
access to a crawl. It also includes a firewall that won't let me connect
via rsyncd (but it allows wide-open access to smb c$ share - LOL).
I did some Googling, and didn't come up with any solutions.
$Conf{ClientTimeout} is set to the default 72000, so it's either
unrelated or not respecting that.
Any other suggestions?
