Morning all.. I am trying to figure out why this is telling me what it's telling me.
The server is located at a different building and connected to us via partial T1.. # Last status is state "idle" (no ping) as of 4/4 09:54. # Last error is "ping too slow: 174.8msec (threshold is 100msec)". # Pings to proxy.mor.pcsd have failed 2 consecutive times. # Prior to that, pings to proxy.mor.pcsd have succeeded 305 consecutive times. # Because proxy.mor.pcsd has been on the network at least 7 consecutive times, it will not be backed up from 7:00 to 19:30 on Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri. From my backuppc server this is what 'ping' tells me.. PING proxy.mor.pcsd (10.20.10.64): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 10.20.10.64: icmp_seq=0 ttl=62 time=6.840 ms 64 bytes from 10.20.10.64: icmp_seq=1 ttl=62 time=17.988 ms 64 bytes from 10.20.10.64: icmp_seq=2 ttl=62 time=5.977 ms 64 bytes from 10.20.10.64: icmp_seq=3 ttl=62 time=6.979 ms 64 bytes from 10.20.10.64: icmp_seq=4 ttl=62 time=8.977 ms --- proxy.mor.pcsd ping statistics --- 5 packets transmitted, 5 packets received, 0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 5.977/9.352/17.988/4.428 ms Why does backuppc think the ping is 'too slow' ? and how can I fix that?
