What happens if you become backuppc and try to create a hardlink, e.g. su - backuppc touch /data/BackupPC/pool/testfile ln /data/BackupPC/pool/testfile /data/BackupPC/pc/linkedtestfile ls -l /data/BackupPC/pool/testfile /data/BackupPC/pc/linkedtestfile What kind of Linux do you use?
