And/or the command BackupPC_tarCreate. I'm using it (plus some sophisticated shell script) to create TARs from server backups. Note that backing up the pc/name/number directories is cumbersome since you need a Backuppc installation to actually restore something. If you create an archive (via archivehost or via BackupPC_tarCreate), you get a real TAR file.
