Another question from me in trying to understand the way BackupPC works. I have a full rsync backup scheduled for one of my hosts. Now the backup is running for hours and nothing is happening. What did I check? - -tcpdump on the client server: there is no traffic between the BackupPC and the client server (I checked for approx 15mins) - -rsync process is running on the client server - -no CPU activity from this rsync process on the client server - -client server is reachable (I'm logged in through ssh) - -On BackupPC two BackupPC_dump processes are running for the client - -On BackupPC there's one ssh process running which started the rsync process on the client (I assume). - -On BackupPC none of these processes is using any CPU cycles- CPU is at 99.7% idle - -nestat -ap shows on client and backuppc an established port 22 connection So what is going on there? Everything looks pretty good (I don't even get a timeout) but the backup is not finishing. I added the "-z --checksum-seed=32761" parameters to rsync. Could this be related? What can I do?
