Perhaps it should be documented that "Full Keep Count" system needs perfect backup day overlap or it's backups in the middle of a keep chain gets erased.

So in a few days we make another full backup. 1of4 becomes 4 weeks 4 weeks is at 4x days not matching 112 days so is erased? Not until 16 weeks reach 32 weeks and gets promoted to 32, do I get 4 weeks promoted to 16. If I had gone with a system stopping at 16 weeks, I would only get the very first backup ever made retained as 16 weeks. I had to sit down with crayons and cardboard and draw myself a pretty picture before I got clued in, Full Keep Count is complicated and if it's mentioned it will erase backups in the middle of the Full Keep Count chain, then I missed it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ BackupPC-users mailing list [email protected] List: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/backuppc-users Wiki: http://backuppc.wiki.sourceforge.net Project: http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/
