Hi,

I am backupping several windows machines (and linux machines too) over a
slowish connection (1st generation ADSL connection). For the windows
machines, I have installed rsyncd. However, I am under the impression that
with rsyncd backuppc is not able to perform differential backups. As I have
a fair bit of data to backup, all my (incremental) backups last for about
10h (yes!) and I can see no reduction in the duration of backups.

On the other hand, my linux machines are backed up using rsync and there I
can clearly see that only a delta of changes is transferred at each backup.

How can I improve the performance of backups on my windows machine? I am
correct in saying that rsyncd does not perform differential backups? Should
I move to rsync somehow instead of rsyncd, if yes is there any suggestions
on how to do it?

I am using version 3.0 of backuppc, the server runs on Linux Ubuntu.

Regards and thanks for your help
