The riddle should become a lot more clear just as soon as you read a bit of the manual. Why not just set it up on a test system? It doesn't take long, and that will get you through enough of the manual to answer most of your own questions and get some experience with it. > Are you saying I need to set up passphraseless SSH keys with root > privileges for BackupPC to work? That's one way. There are several others. If I'm not mistaken you only need the key exchange if you want encrypted backup transport. I just use rsyncd because I don't care about encrypting the stream. No key exchange required. -- "I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends" - Abraham Lincoln ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ BackupPC-users mailing list [email protected] List: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/backuppc-users Wiki: http://backuppc.wiki.sourceforge.net Project: http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/
