I understand why the cpool files are compressed using zlib with a twist so that you can also save the checksums.
But why do the log files have to be in a format that can't be read with standard unix tools? Especially since the system logs sit in /var/log along with all the other files that get compressed with either gzip or bzip2. That would seem to be easier than being forced to either open a web browser or enter the full path to /usr/share/BackupPC/bin/BackupPC_zcat as it is stored on my system. I'm sure I'm missing something here... ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ BackupPC-users mailing list BackupPC-users@lists.sourceforge.net List: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/backuppc-users Wiki: http://backuppc.wiki.sourceforge.net Project: http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/
