Upgrading smbclient from 3.2.5 to 3.3.6 from Backports.org solved the
issue, so it's very likely a bug in smbclient 3.2.5 which has been
fixed in more recent Samba versions.
Short said: Samba 3.3 fixes even more problems with Vista. :)
