This is a new setup, so no targets working yet. I only have two  
clients for testing.

OSX 10.5.7 clients and server.

I've tried with the default rsync 2.6.9 as well as with a custom  
compiled rsync 3.0.6

What really boggles me is that the raw rsync calls work fine as well  
as piping rsync over ssh with -e /usr/bin/ssh. So I'm thinking this  
has something to do with the backuppc build.

I'm going to try to recompile/install backuppc. I'll post back after  
testing that.
