I prefer not to be misconstrued -- even in this thread -- in fact, I said
I'm *not sure* if I'd call using consumer-grade NAS as a BackupPC
repository a fringe case, which is, in fact, quite different in meaning
than what you're suggesting.  Whether one dedicates a filesystem to
BackupPC or not has nothing to do with it.
